Creative Cutup Quilt Group

Creative Cutup Quilt Group from Oelwein hosted a beautiful quilt show in Oelwein, Iowa August 19. The Feathered Nest was invited to be a vendor and did we ever have a good time. Lots of new friends were made and new ideas were discussed and shared. It was an excellent show and we will be going back next year. On Saturday night we went to Gunder, Iowa and ate the biggest hamburgers I have ever seen. (This was the recommendation of some of the locals) On the way we saw about ten quilt boards on barns. We visited a quilt shop in West Union and were close to the one in Postville. Both of these were vendors at the show as well as a quilt shop of St. Ansgar. Lots of new shops to visit, explore, and shop.

On the Road Again

October 19 the Forreston Quilt Guild is having a Hen Party workshop at 1pm and guild meeting at 7Pm. The Feathered Nest is eggcited to do a return visit and will be featuring Scrapples.

Scrapples

Scrapples

This is my newest pattern that I am working on. I call is Scrapples as it is all from scraps of purple. Queen size, all strips, no matching--it is a wonderful way to create in one color family.

Pink color rendition of my purple scraps. I finished this quilt and gave to my good friend Dorothy. It is made from all scraps of pink!!!! Now I am working on a blue and yellow one. Merry Christmas!

Hatching new ideas

Need a program for your guild? Hatching new ideas and creating while having a hen party is what we do best. Donna Slater and Colleen Gift share, cluck and create so the whole group can learn while enjoying an eggciting time. Contact us at slatersewso@comcast.net to book your party. We also can do 3 or 6 hour workshops. We love to quilt and we love to explore new quilt stores and make new quilting friends. Go Chicken is a game with fabric strips , exercise to the Chicken Dance, and have a Hen Party.
